15 Fingers is an artist collective comprised of individuals with varied and profound specialized skills, working in the spirit and process of Automatism. The process-centric works explore the role of the artist’s conscious, psychic connection between participants, and ownership of a collaborative work within the confines of this exclusive group through a series of to-be-determined small-scale mixed-media paintings.

Working in groups of three determined by the society’s Creative Director Everest Hall, the members of 15 Fingers will interact with each installment of this show as Exquisite Corpse; members in the defined triads will create, elaborate and finish works in turn with absolute and total freedom over method, material and otherwise. By segmenting this process into three defined stages (conception, middle, end), the finished work is removed from a singular conscious hand.

In order to maintain a flow of the Automation process, each artist will be given a small window of time to complete their stage of the work, after which they will either mail or hand-deliver the painting to the next participant. As the product of three minds working separately but attuned collectively, the resulting work will belong to the collective with no individual laying claim to its ownership. In the spirit of collaboration, any sales will be split three ways between the members of the creating triad.
